  32. seemed to enjoy reading it. The thoughts I expressed in that article had been
  33. brewing in my mind for quite a while. Thank you very much for letting me read

  65. wake up to every morning. They recently put out a full length record with
  66. Candy Ass Records in Portland. Candy Ass is a small label run by Jody Bleyle
  67. (from the band Hazel) and a couple of her friends. I highly recommend you

  76. Blake, Adam, and Chris are back in San Francisco & Oakland after their 4th
  77. U.S. tour. Not much to report really. They're pretty much taking it easy for
  78. the summer.  
  79. - Actually, the other day they got a call from a booking agent asking if they
  80. wanted to go out on the road with Jawbox for 10 dates across the U.S. in
  81. July. They're not sure yet whether they're going to do it. If anyone wants to
  82. send in their vote as to whether Jawbreaker should say yes or no, e-mail us
  83. and we'll send the results to Adam.

  89. Scott Rutherford at the zine Speed Kills in Chicago sent Fred and I a really
  90. great letter the other day addressing a very important issue. As we all know
  91. a lot of great bands have gone over to major labels. The problem is that
  92. Scott and a lot of the rest of us have some good friends in some of these
  93. bands. The painful decision whether or not to deny ad space to these bands is
  94. weighing heavily on Scott's mind. He wrote, "I've tossed and turned about the
  95. whole issue, and finally accepted the notion that I wasn't gonna deny ad
  96. space to those bands I truly like. Drive Like Jehu. Unrest. Rocket. But,
  97. majors will have to pay double. Seems like a standard zine thing to do. I'm
  98. fully prepared to say no to those labels and/or bands I wouldn't have dinner
  99. with. But, how do I weigh justice?"  More and more zine writers will be
  100. facing this dilemna.

  104. SPAVID from Buffalo starts their tour on Wednesday, June 8th in Albany, NY.  
  105. 59 days and hundreds of miles later they will finish in Pittsburgh, PA on
  106. August 4th with Don Caballero. Full tour dates and venues coming soon. Their
  107. 7" on Simple Machines should be released in a few weeks.
